The Medical Education Specialist reports to the Medical Education Manager and is responsible for maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and operationally managing medical education activities intended for practitioners ensuring the appropriate use of IBSA DERMA medical devices.
As a credible and trusted scientific resource, the Medical Education Specialist actively engages with KOLs and customers across different regions contributing to the development of the Medical Education Program through a scientific approach aligned with company’s strategy and therapeutic area objectives.
The role includes delivering hands-on medical education, managing medical projects aimed at updating and training healthcare professionals and supporting the implementation of the educational program by developing new activities and scientific content.

 

Main activities:

•    Serve as a major source of balanced scientific information for practitioners, addressing scientific questions and managing scientific issues as needed;
•    Support the Medical education Manager to prepare, review and adapt educational materials;
•    Execute medical training programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines;
•    Contribute to the development of new slide deck material by providing market insights and feedback from healthcare professionals;
•    Communicate regional scientific insights to headquarters and contribute to defining strategic directions for new and existing customer learning activities;
•    Identify, expand, and strengthen KOL network by providing credible scientific information and customizing training related to IBSA’s product portfolio;
•    Support the development of new targeted projects for selected groups of practitioners (e.g. Train the Trainer program);
•    Support the Medical education Manager to the development of scientific presentations and assist KOLs in preparing educational content;
•    Support the implementation of the medical education program dedicated to injectors and assist in the organization of events (e.g., masterclasses, workshops, anatomy sessions);
•    Maintain up-to-date scientific knowledge and become an expert on dermal medical devices;
•    Create new video educational content, involving KOLs in the development of scientific materials.

 

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of the healthcare system and medical devices.
  • Aesthetic Medicine/Dermatology therapeutic area knowledge is strongly preferred.MD, PhD, Pharm D or MSc preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Sales Rep/MSL/Product Specialist or KAM experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with KOLs, engage KOLs in a scientific dialogue and to handle possible objections.
  • High proactivity and demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and work effectively.
  • High ability to present and discuss clearly the scientific material.
  • Good problem solving, analytic approach, flexibility, and skill project management.
  • Ability to work in a team and coordinate with other company functions.
  • Good knowledge of MS office and presenting tools.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (about 40%)
  • Fluent in Italian & English.
