Procurement Category Specialist

The Procurement Category Specialist supports the execution of category strategies and manages day-to-day sourcing activities in close collaboration with the Category Manager and internal stakeholders.

The role focuses on operational sourcing, supplier coordination, and procurement data management, ensuring efficient purchasing processes, supplier performance monitoring, and continuous improvement in procurement operations.

The position reports directly to the Category Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of category strategies defined by the Category Manager in alignment with business functions
  • Manage operational sourcing activities including RFx processes, quotation analysis, and supplier follow-up
  • Implement supplier agreements in line with defined category plans
  • Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP systems (pricing, contracts, lead times, supplier information)
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect requirements and ensure specification alignment
  • Monitor supplier performance using defined KPIs and escalate deviations when necessary
  • Support contract implementation and compliance monitoring at local or regional level
  • Coordinate supplier onboarding and qualification processes, including documentation and system setup
  • Manage and resolve day-to-day procurement issues such as delivery delays, order discrepancies, and quality claims
  • Conduct basic market and benchmark analysis to support supplier selection and negotiations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational inefficiencies and proposing corrective actions

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations
  • Good understanding of RFx processes and supplier management
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English
